this just keeps getting funnier and funnier.
a bit of background: i live in a multi-unit building. there's an intercom at the front door, allowing visitors to call me from it so that i can buzz them into the building. i have the intercom pointed at my cell phone, so that in the event of a delivery -- for example -- i can buzz in the delivery person regardless of where i am.
on wednesday, 06/10/09 at 17:21 i received a call placed from the intercom. a man mumbled his name, said he was from comcast and that he was here to pick up the equipment. funny, no-one told me about someone from comcast stopping by. but isn't that just like the arrogant comcast to think that everything revolves around them and that the customer is there to work around comcast's schedule? we'll just drop by whenever we want and we're sure you'll [have to] make time for us. anyway, i told the doofus that i wasn't home and i hung up on him. a few minutes later i get a call from 415.716.1210. it's the same guy. i told him we didn't have an appointment and that he would have to call back and schedule an appointment. he said he would call his dispatcher. that was the end of that call. if they call back i'm sure i can schedule something. say, between 2 and 7 pm some day? you can wait outside my door until *i'm* damn good and ready to make time for you. (sound familiar?)
now it's friday, 06/12/09. 12:46 pm. i get a call placed from the intercom. it's the ups guy with a delivery for me. i'm not expecting anything, but i buzz him in and he trudges up the six flights of stairs (no elevator!) with a large box. says it's from comcast. and i'm not expecting anything. especially from comcast. funny, no-one from comcast told me they were shipping something to me. but isn't that just like the arrogant comcast to think that everything revolves around them and that the customer is there to work around comcast's schedule? we'll just do whatever we want without communicating it to you. i refused the delivery, so i have no idea what was in the box. if it was an apology, flowers would have been nicer.
and speaking of apologies, i should apologize to the ups guy. in hindsight i should have asked him at the intercom who the delivery was from. would have saved him some stairs. sorry.
did i mention? up yours, comcast.
